Chewits launch this years series of Chewits Sports Courses, the children’s multi-sport courses that will take place at venues across the UK during every school holiday period in 2012.

The programme has been designed to give children of all sporting abilities the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate sporting experience, whilst having fun and keeping physically active.

There will be 1,000s of courses running throughout the year with over 20 different sports to enjoy including Football, Hockey, Tag Rugby, Fencing, Dance to name but a few. Chewits Sports Courses have already seen more than 300,000 children aged five to eleven take part in the three years that they have been running.

Chewits continues its partnership with Premier Sport the UK’s number one provider of sport and physical activity in schools. Based in Norfolk, Premier Sport continue to lead the way working in over 2000 schools and successfully delivering coaching and support to more than 150,000 children every week.

To announce the launch of the Chewits Sports Courses, London 2012 Paralympic Games hopeful and Premier Sport ambassador, Danny Nobbs, attended East Harling Primary School in Norwich to give the children an inspirational talk about his sporting experiences and provide some top tips to achieving sporting success.  In 2008 Danny realised his dream of competing for Great Britain in the Paralympic Games in Beijing where he came 10th in the shot putt.

Speaking at the launch of the Chewits Sports Courses, Danny Nobbs said:  “I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to meet the children at East Harling Primary School and learn all about their sporting goals for the future.  Children like these are the future of sport in Great Britain and it’s great to see them getting some top-level support to get fit and active.  Chewits and Premier Sport do a fantastic job of organising the Chewits Sports Courses and I look forward to seeing children across the UK getting involved in 2012.” For more information on the Chewits Sports Courses, or to discover how your child could get involved in 2012, visit: http://chewits.premiersport.org
