Here’s a delicious recipe for some Sour Apple Toffee Apples!
SOUR APPLE FLAVOUR CHEWITS® TOFFEE APPLES
10 MINUTES PREPARATION – 10 MINUTES COOKING
MAKES 4 TOFFEE APPLES
4 Granny Smith apples 4 (1 packet) SOUR APPLE FLAVOUR CHEWITS® XTREME
65g decorative sprinkles 200g golden caster sugar 50ml water
2tbsp golden syrup
1- Place the apples in a large bowl and cover with boiling water to remove the waxy coating. Dry thoroughly and twist off any stalks. Push a wooden skewer or lolly stick into the stalk end of each apple.
2- Lay out a sheet of baking parchment and place the CHEWITS® on one side and the decorative sprinkles on the other.
3- Put the sugar and water into a pan over a medium heat. Cook for five minutes until the sugar dissolves, then stir in the vinegar and syrup. Bring to the boil and heat until a little drop poured into a bowl of cold water hardens.
4- Working quickly and carefully, dip and twist each apple in the hot toffee until covered, let any excess drip away, then place a CHEWITS® Xtreme on each and roll the apple in the decorative sprinkles before resting on the baking parchment to harden. Leave the toffee to cool before eating.
