Spanish cultural officials were stunned at the attempts of an amateur painter to restore a prized fresco of Jesus Christ. The painting had taken pride of place in a church in Zaragoza for 100 years. But had deteriorated due to damp conditions.
Upset by its demise, an elderly parishioner took it upon herself to repatch the painting. Sadly her brush skills weren’t quite up to the challenge, and the once noble portrait was transformed into what was described as ‘a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey’.
The brush strokes have now been analysed and experts can confirm that they were not made by the elderly lady. But someone (or something) with bigger, more claw-like features, similar to those of a dinosaur…
